Leave Well Enough Alone.

Esme , " Sigh. Do you ever wish the hoomans would leave well enough alone?!"

Esme , " I used to love napping in my fruit bowl and then what did LP go and do?!"

Esme , " She stuffed these stiff placemats into it! "

Esme , " I had to really pummel them down to get my bowl feeling comfy again."

Esme , " But I still can't sink into the bowl for my naps , like I used to be able to do. I have to perch like a bird now. And well, I'm not a bird!"

Esme , " I guess it will just have to do!"

Esme , " Still. Why can't LP learn to leave well enough alone?!! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. "

Have a Terrific Tuesday!
See you soon.

Flowers to say , Thank you.

LP, " I wanted to thank you for leaving such kind and healing comments after we shared Tulip's final good-bye with you last week. We read (and read again) each of your comments. We were uplifted not only by the content of your comments but by the fact that we are part of a  loving group of people who understand what it means to lose  a beloved pet. Since we are right in the middle of tulip and cherry blossom season here in Vancouver, I thought I would share some photos I took of tulips in our home as well as a few photos I took of cherry blossoms as a thank you to each of you.Thank you for your comments and for taking the time to leave them for us. They helped enormously.

Malou , " I think I see an angel in the cottage."

Levon , " I think I see an angel too Malou."

Have a Marvelous Monday.
See you soon.

Tulip Bunny Blossom Sweet Heart : A Little Ray of Big Sunshine , Now Gone.

LP , " It is with a sad and heavy heart that I tell you that we said our final good-byes to Tulip last Friday. Tulip had been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism two years ago and then last July, she was diagnosed with kidney disease. Treating these two ailments simultaneously is tough. We could see that she was losing more and more weight over time despite our best efforts to keep weight on her. Last Thursday , we made an appointment to take her to the vet's Friday morning. She took a turn for the worse over night and we were told the kindest thing we could do at this point , was to let her go. Of course we weren't ready to do this but we knew the vet was right and made the heartbreaking and never easy decision to say our final good-byes.

Tulip was our long term foster cat who had been with us for three and half years. I'll never foget the day Tulip jumped on a cat tree and tap , tap , tapped me on the shoulder at the rescue dayroom willing me to notice her. She came to us with numerous health issues after having been found by the rescue dumped on a country road at the advanced age of ten, eleven, twelve? years of age. She had ringworm , a recurring skin infection, on and off again eye problems ; eventually she had four teeth pulled, then when her health  finally appeared stable , she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and later kidney disease.

Tulip never let any of these things bother her. She never wasted a moment of her life with us. She was always purring and up for the adventure that each day brought her. She greeted me daily as soon as I entered the foster room , no matter her condition , and would hop on the table , nudge my hand and look at me as if to say, " So what's the plan today? I hope you'll be spending lots of time in my company !" She was love purrsonified my Tulip Bunny Blossom Sweet Heart.

Tulip was also a little ray of  BIG sunshine in my life. She was purity , love and sweetness wrapped in a little being I will truly miss.Always and forever. I know she is shining bright somewhere else now , painfree , and making loads of new friends. Rest in peace , my sweet Tooley B. You were found all alone on a country road wounded and wandering but in the end , you were loved by many. And you were so loved by me, my pretty little girl with the pretty red dress on.

                                                    Four Cups of Sweetness.

                                                  Flirting for the camera.

Tulip in her favourite barrel in the garden.

 The Catnip Barrel!

 Queen of the Garden Throne.

 Rockin' the rocker.

Leo and Tulip. Friends until the end.

A Little Ray of Big Sunshine.

Tulips from our garden in honour of  our Tulip.

I found this glass tulip candle holder in a shop after we said our final good-bye last Friday. I've lit it each evening since she left us to celebrate/symbolise the joy and love she brought us.

Heartbroken. One and All.

Flowers in the Cottage (For Cat).

LP, " There is nothing like flowers in a home to brighten a dreary day or to remind us that Spring is well on the way."

LP, " Our garden is offering us tulips these days so we have placed them in vases and scattered them throughout  the cottage."

LP, " All our African Violets are now in bloom. I  often kill African Violets and then replace them so in all honesty...they are often in bloom in the cottage!"

LP , " More African Violets blooming as Malou keeps a discerning eye on them."

Malou, " They look a little dry. Maybe I should water them!"

LP, " We bought this orchid in your honour last Sunday , Cat. It now sits on our diningroom table. To me it symbolises the coming of Spring , which prompts the coming of new life, new growth, new beginnings."

 Malou , " Peek-a- boo I see you! "

Levon , " These flowers smell delectable!"

 Levon, " Hmmmm. Let's see. . ."

Levon , " What do I think of new beginnings?!"

Levon, " I think new beginnings are tasty!"

LP, " Cat, we will think of you every time we look at our lovely orchid and watch it bloom. This plant takes time to flower, but the blooms are long lasting."

Have a Wonderful day!
We love you Cat :)
See you soon.
