A Walk in the Summer Forest.

Issa , " We went for a long walk today in the summer forest."

Issa , " There are so many beautiful trees in this forest. We can walk here from home in no time at all."

Issa , " Look how tiny K looks next to the tall trees in this forest."

Duffy , " I like to climb tree stumps. I'm a tree stump climber and hugger."

Duffy , " I have a wonderful view from this vantage point ."

Duffy , " I can see moss clinging to tree branches. Isn't moss such a glorious thing?! "

Duffy , " Don't eat the green moss! It doesn't taste like green dog treats. At all."

Issa , " Guess what we are on now?! It's an erratic glacial rock. From the Ice Age!! "

Issa , " It's a long jump to the ground from up here ! "

Duffy and Issa , " We met Rosie who is a "failed seeing eye dog." We think she is extremely smart because now she is with a family who takes her to the summer forest every day. She is permitted to run free and she doesn't have to work for her living! We think she passed! "

Rosie, " I love to look up into the trees. It looks like a painting."

Rosie , " The sunlight on tree trunks is very awe inspiring too."

Issa and Duffy , " We love this cluster of trees and the blue, blue sky as the backgroound. There is so much beauty in the summer forest. We hope you enjoyed walking through some of it with us today."

Leo , " And the tomato plant has a few tomatoes on it. Can you spot them on the far left hand corner ?"

Lewis' Blanket .

Tulip , " This used to be Lewis' blanket. Well , one of many blankets actually. He had a whole bunch of blankets on top of the  fridge. Piled high on each other. He used to call it his , " fridge throne". No one else used those stacked blankets. They wouldn't dare! Anyhoo. This plaid blanket was part of his FT."

Tulip , " Leo uses it all the time but I really like it. I like the fringe. Pretty , right? "

Tulip , " A girl has to fight for what she wants and I want this blanket ! "

Tulip , " Even when I stretch I make certain part of me remains on the blanket at all times so Leo doesn't sneak in on me ! "

Tulip , " I also like to contemplate the day half on and half off the blanket ."

Tulip , " I LOVE my new blanket ! Don't you ?! "

Have a terrific Tuesday!
See you soon.

Southlands .

LP, " There is an area minutes from where we live in the city called , Southlands. There are quite a few horse farms in that area. On Sundays farm owners get together and sell produce , jams, breads and cheese they produce,  on a specific farm called Heritage, to local people who live in the area. Southlands is a unique and very special area because it is country living within the city of Vancouver. Here are some pics I took when we were at the farmer's market this Sunday."

LP , " This particular farm has an apple orchard on it ."

LP ," There are quaint home-made signs on different trees letting people know which tree grows what type of apple."

LP, " That apple looks ready to pick ! "

LP, " That's Donovan . He is going home for a bath after a good , long ride and workout! "

LP, " Do you want your picture taken Donovan ? "

LP, " What a handsome fellow you are ! "

LP, " We arrived around feeding time when many of the horses were having a nice bucket of lunch ! "

LP , " That's Jasper. It was difficult to get a good picture of him because he has quite a few duties to fulfill on the farm and doesn't stay still for long ! "

LP, " What to buy ?"

LP , " These are called chums and they are a hybrid between plums and cherries. Very tasty and sweet!"

LP , " This walnut bread is delicious toasted and topped with butter and honey. Yum ! "

LP , "If they so desire , children can go on a pony ride throughout the orchards . "

LP , " Sassy is sad to see us go and we are reluctant to leave the serenity of country living behind but don't worry old gal :) We'll be back next week ! "

We hope you enjoyed a look around a unique part of our city. Southlands is a special place for those of
us who are part of this community. It is a slice of calm heaven within an otherwise bustling city!
Have a great day.
