Remembering Lewis .

LP, " For those of you new to reading about our adventures, you may not be aware that we lost one of our cats, Lewis, last March. He was only four years old and he left us in less than twenty-four hours without any warning at all. IMHA an auto-immune disease took his life.We were devastated. But so many people , including our blog readers who left us incredibly loving , thoughtful and sincere comments , helped us immensely during this sad time of loss. For those of you who went through that sadness with us , you may remember that at that time I mentioned my sister  was working on something for me to lift my spirits.Today I thought I would share what she made for me with you . It seems with the arrival of the kitten "twins" our thoughts come back to Lewis often these days. Not to make comparisons, but rather, to remember him in all his wonderful ways. It thus seemed fitting to share her gift now.

LP, " Some of you may also be aware that I love to paint and my sister does as well. Her gift to me after Lewis died was this painting of him :

LP , " Lewis loved playing around this potted plant and he often used it as his "observation post" to keep up with household events. It was a perfect little spot to snoopervise without being too obvious. I love everything about this painting. What I also love , is that my sister found the time in her busy and full life to paint it for me .Thank you again sis of mine. I know you are "lurking" and reading this :p

LP, " I believe it is because we loved Lewis as much as we did that we were able to welcome these two brand spanking new kittens. And it would seem that with every day they are here , they remind us that love is indeed everlasting. They remind us  that love , in all its' many and wonderful forms , prevails.

Have a marvelous Monday.
See you soon.

  4. What a lovely tribute and painting. With great love comes also profound sadness and loss, but it's so worth it in the end.

  6. We agree with every single thing you say. The painting is beautiful! Lewis was a special soul and we were so shocked when he left so suddenly for the Bridge. And yes, the kittens will bring great joy also!
