Thursday not in our Garden .

Mitalee, " While I was trying to find the purrfect position on the loveseat , LP was off gallivanting in search of the purrfect wine to serve with our Thanksgiving dinner. Thanksgiving will be celebrated this coming weekend here in Canada. She went to the Fraser Valley where cranberry and other fruit wines are made on the westcoast."

Mitalee , " Her search brought her to a winery where there are over fifty acres of cranberry beds. A cranberry bed, also known as a cranberry bog , can thrive for over one hundred years once it is ready to harvest. It takes three years for a bed to be ready for harvest and after that it can survive on its' own for decades! "

Mitalee, " This winery not only makes cranberry wine it also makes blueberry , pear and blackberry wines."

Mitalee , " Once the berries are harvested , they are placed in these containers and turned over for months."

Mitalee , " When they are ready they are placed in a wine press such as this one and then bottled."

Mitalee , " This man let LP taste all sorts of fruit wine... "

Mitalee , "...and also offered her a plate with some cheese with cranberry and wine jellies to savor. LP said she enjoyed learning about fruit wines and she was able to choose the perfect bottles of wine to compliment her traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Now let's hope her guests enjoy them too!! "

Mitalee , " ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz."

Have a Thankful Thursday in preparation for Thanksgiving!
See you soon.
