Southlands .

LP, " There is an area minutes from where we live in the city called , Southlands. There are quite a few horse farms in that area. On Sundays farm owners get together and sell produce , jams, breads and cheese they produce,  on a specific farm called Heritage, to local people who live in the area. Southlands is a unique and very special area because it is country living within the city of Vancouver. Here are some pics I took when we were at the farmer's market this Sunday."

LP , " This particular farm has an apple orchard on it ."

LP ," There are quaint home-made signs on different trees letting people know which tree grows what type of apple."

LP, " That apple looks ready to pick ! "

LP, " That's Donovan . He is going home for a bath after a good , long ride and workout! "

LP, " Do you want your picture taken Donovan ? "

LP, " What a handsome fellow you are ! "

LP, " We arrived around feeding time when many of the horses were having a nice bucket of lunch ! "

LP , " That's Jasper. It was difficult to get a good picture of him because he has quite a few duties to fulfill on the farm and doesn't stay still for long ! "

LP, " What to buy ?"

LP , " These are called chums and they are a hybrid between plums and cherries. Very tasty and sweet!"

LP , " This walnut bread is delicious toasted and topped with butter and honey. Yum ! "

LP , "If they so desire , children can go on a pony ride throughout the orchards . "

LP , " Sassy is sad to see us go and we are reluctant to leave the serenity of country living behind but don't worry old gal :) We'll be back next week ! "

We hope you enjoyed a look around a unique part of our city. Southlands is a special place for those of
us who are part of this community. It is a slice of calm heaven within an otherwise bustling city!
Have a great day.
See you soon.
