Chinese New Year

This is what we were doing this past week/ weekend.Celebrating the Chinese New Year! You see, our Daddyman's parents came from China and so we get to celebrate a lot of the traditions they have preserved here in their new country.LP says she loves all the tasty food that comes with celebrating this festival.Don't all those people look wet?! But still, the spirit of the occasion was felt and very celebratory.

LP says the Chinese New Year parades always have dragons like this one in them.Leo said that dragon would never scare him.He would just stare at it and it would flee in UTTER fear.Esme said she would just jump on the dragon's back and go for a ride!

What we really like about this holiday is the lucky money we get.It comes in these pretty red envelopes. We each got one.You receive the lucky money until you are married and then it's your turn to give it away!

We sincerely wish these four things for you in the new lunar year:
Friendship, Happiness, Fortune, Prosperity.

Happy Chinese New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai (Mandarin)
                                            Gong Hey Fat Choy (Cantonese)

We say,"Gong Hey Fat Choy!"

  1. We got to see Chinese New Year in San Francisco when we lived in California. It was very exciting. The biped enjoyed shopping in the unique stories and veggie stands.

  2. A very happy Chinese New Year to you all as well! We wish those four things to you too!

  3. Hey!
I just stopped in to comment and it seems quite simple...but I do see there's no anonymous. I know there's a setting for that and I'll shoot you an email as soon as I find the dang thing!

We always love to hear from you!
